Journalist gunned down at Coca Cola depot at 12:30am

A journalist working with Kings Broadcasting Services in Masindi has succumbed to gun wounds after a shooting this morning.
The deceased has been identified as Gerald Asera.
Well-placed sources tell Kampala Gazette that at 12:30am, a security guard identified as Simon Ekou while on duty at a Coca cola Depot Masindi, along Persey Street, Asera gain entry in the Coca Cola compound, and went straight where cartons of sodas were. Sources add, Asera picked four cartoons and as he was leaving, Ekou suspect shot him from the chest.
He was then rushed to Masindi Hospital under critical condition, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The killer gun, a rifle number UG. PSO21008209637 and three rounds of ammunition were recovered from the suspect and exhibited.
Suspect arrested to assist in the investigations, an authoritative source says.
The matter is under probe Vide SD REF 04/01/06/2022.
