Prudential Africa and StrongMinds Uganda have come up to offer support to police officer who were hurt in the double bombings on Kampala on November 16, 2021.

The incidents at Raja Plaza (Parliamentary Avenue) and at the Central Police Station (CPS), Kampala left 4 people dead, and injured over 30 people.

However, out of the injured, there were 27 police officers.

A news story carried by the Observer two days ago said that Matthew Adeun, one of the 27 policemen injured in the bomb explosion at Kampala Central police station, CPS, is still lying in hospital stuck with a pile of medical bills. According to the story, the family is struggling to buy prescribed medicines that aren’t dispensed free of charge at Mulago hospital. At Mulago, Adeun is under the care of his pregnant wife Lucy Nake, and their three-year-old boy. The boy is battling a bout of malaria.

In response, Prudential has come up to offer financial support.

In a meeting with the police top leadership at the Police headquarters in Naguru on Thursday, Prudential Africa represented by Nasiba Nalubega and Grace Amme pledged to support the injured financially. The pledge was made to Police’s Chief Political Commissar, AIGP Asan Kasingye.

At the same meeting, StrongMinds Uganda committed to provide psychosocial support to the victims. Peter Birungi made the commitment on behalf of Strong Minds.
